Lynn Summerall, originally of Baltimore Maryland, passed away on April 16th, just two months short of his 80th birthday. He studied Theater at Towson University and spent most of his life working in the performing arts. His varied career included associate manager of the Maryland Ballet Company, group sales with the Metropolitan Opera, Public relations and marketing for The Lost Colony and production team work at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
For many years he lived in Norfolk, Virginia where he worked as an announcer and volunteer coordinator for WHRO public radio. His love of the jazz music of the 1920’s inspired him to found the Hotel Paradise Roof Garden Orchestra in 1992 in which he acted as band leader, vocalist and trombonist. He retired to Baltimore in 2017 where he reformed his beloved jazz band which still performs in the area.
