Madelina C. Boykin

Madeline Carol Boykin "Matt" was honorably led home to be with God on March 24th, 2026. She grew up in Chicago Heights, Illinois, and was raised by Lilas Massey-Collins and Will Henry Garnett. She graduated from Bloom High School and later pursued her dream of entering the world of business. She began her studies at Cortez Business College and, despite life's challenges, became the top student in her class. This accomplishment opened the door for her to accept a position in Administration at Continental Bank, the largest financial institution in Chicago during the 1970s.
Madeline also had a vibrant creative side that led her into cosmetology. She furthered this passion by graduating from Debbie's School of Beauty Culture in 1979, deepening her skills and building the foundation for her work in the beauty profession. Preceding her in her journey were her father, William Henry Garnett; her mother, Lilas Massey-Collins; and her son, Robert Carey.
Madeline leaves to cherish her memory: Her husband, Paul Boykin; Four daughters: Rechelle Carey, Davita Carey, Lecola Carey, and Andreau Upshaw; Two sons: D'aldo Jones and Philip Campbell; She also leaves James Walker, Alicia Campbell, and Fred Carey Jr.; A beautiful legacy of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will forever carry her love forward.
