Madelyn Mary Ratz-Baskett, born November 14, 1952, was born into eternal life on March 7, 2026. Madelyn was born in Virginia to Palmer and Patricia (Kelley) Langteau. She grew up with her 8 siblings in Bay View, WI. She had several vocations which enriched the lives of others. She managed J & R Transmission and Accurate Transmission in Milwaukee. She was the mother of four children. Madelyn loved her careers, her children, her grandchildren, thrift shopping and candle shopping. One of her favorite activities with her children and grandchildren was to attend Irish Fest. Madelyn had a heart to help others and spent her life giving to her family and strangers alike. She loved the German Shepherd breed and owned several during her lifetime who were her service dogs.

Madelyn traveled a great deal during her life. She loved the Smoky Mountains and the Southern United States. Although she never liked cold weather, Madelyn returned to Wisconsin to be near her family.

Madelyn attended Parkway Church in Oak Creek with her children and later became a beloved member of Abundant Life Apostolic Church. She enjoyed watching Hallmark and Lifetime movies.

Madelyn was preceded in death by her father Palmer (1928-2008), her mother Patricia (1931- March 6, 2026), her brother Joseph (1954-1957), her sister Joanna (1957-2012). Madelyn is lovingly survived by six of her siblings: Laura, David, Linda, James, Lily, and Paula. She is also survived by her children: Clayton Warichak (Margaret), Camron Ratz (Mandy), Kelsey Ratz (Tim), and Kim Fleischmann (David). Madelyn had 9 grandchildren: Tiffany Warichak, Joshua Warichak, Seth Warichak (Morgan), Kaily Ratz (Trevor), Naria Ratz, Emmanuel Ratz, Isaiah Ratz, Kimmiah Smith and Daniel Fleischmann. She also had 3 great grandchildren: Daphne Mleziva, Octavia Warichak and Hosanna Warichak with a great grandson, Zephaniah Warichak, due in mid-March.

The family would like to thank Alden Estates of Jefferson for providing loving care for her in her final years. The staff of the 700 wing became an extension of her family and are greatly appreciated.

"If Roses Grow in Heaven"-Dolores M. Garcia
If roses grow in heaven,
Lord please pick a bunch for me.
Place them in my Mother's arms,
and tell her they're from me.
Tell her I love her and miss her,
and when she turns to smile,
place a kiss upon her cheek
and hold her for a while.
Because remembering her is easy.
I do it every day,
but there's an ache within my heart
that will never go away.
