Madelyn Constance (Connie) Tew, 90, of Florence, Mississippi entered the gates of heaven on December 24, 2025, surrounded by her family.
She was born on August 23, 1935, to the late Hiram and Myrtie Oma Robbins in Sumrall, Mississippi. She graduated from Pearl High School and worked for General Electric in Jackson for many years.
Connie loved her family, especially her feline companions. In her free time, she liked to put together jigsaw puzzles, work crossword puzzles, and read mystery novels. She also loved to binge watch British detective shows. She loved to travel, especially to the ocean and the mountains. She loved music, from jazz and rock to southern gospel. She enjoyed supporting local music in the metro area.
Connie loved to decorate for holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas, and loved making food and desserts to match the occasion. She was happily occupied for hours when a new food magazine arrived in the mail. She enjoyed eating at her favorite restaurants and having the occasional margarita.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Jimmy Robbins and Vernie Robbins.
She is survived by her daughters, Layne Tew and Melissa Honea (Mike); son, Troy Whittington (Becky); her nieces Lorrie Dean (Elton), Jennifer Reed (Brian), Deborah Posey (James); her nephews David Robbins and Steve Robbins; and her precious cats Petey, Sweetie, Ioli and Pudge.
She requested no memorial service, but donations may be made to a charity of your choice or to any local or national animal rescue or animal shelter.
