Manoon Chuaprasert

Manoon Chuaprasert, 87, of West Hempstead, NY, went home to Jesus on March 29, 2026. He was preceded in death by his wife, Suvannee. He is survived by many loving individuals including his children, Saravit (Kerry) Chuaprasert, Rittie (Michelle) Chuaprasert, and Malinee (Michael) Ganahl, and six grandchildren.

Manoon was born on December 11, 1938 in Bangkok, Thailand. He attended Chulalongkorn University where he met Suvannee, becoming her math tutor. Years later, they married in 1967. They moved to the United States together and went on to have three kids, Saravit, Rittie, and Malinee.

Manoon went on to received his PhD from City University of New York and had a successful career in engineering where he worked on infrastructure and pipe support for nuclear power plants. After retiring, Manoon spent more time involved in church and faith organizations including the St. Thomas the Apostle Church Choir, prayer groups, and Bible study. He also spent time traveling around the world with Suvannee.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 6th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Barnes-Sorrentino Funeral Home in West Hempstead, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, April 7th at 10am at St. Thomas the Apostle RCC, West Hempstead, NY. Entombment follows at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY.
