Marcia Lea (Meloy) Baer, 76, of Lancaster, Ohio, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on February 20, 2026, at the Pickering House, surrounded by the loving embrace of her family.

Born on November 29, 1949, in Zanesville, Ohio, Marcia was the cherished daughter of William T. and Frances F. (Embree) Meloy. She graduated from Berea High School in 1966 and later moved with her parents to Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Marcia worked at the United States Postal Service.

Above all else, Marcia was a devoted and loving mother. She found great joy in supporting her children, whether cheering them on at sporting events or attending band performances. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her own family, as she lovingly opened her heart and home to dozens of children as a foster parent. Her life was a reflection of generosity and compassion, always seeking ways to love, serve, and uplift others.

Marcia’s greatest happiness was found in time spent with her family and friends. She also enjoyed baking, crafting, sewing, and embroidery—often sharing her handmade creations with those she loved. Her home was a place of warmth, welcome, and unwavering kindness.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents; her sister-in-law, Charlotte A. (Walden) Meloy; and her niece, Jennifer A. (Meloy) Baker.

Marcia leaves behind a legacy of love through her children: Tina (Ruth) Storey of Belton, Texas; R. Scott Baer of Lancaster, Ohio; Kevin (Amy) Baer of Baltimore, Ohio; Heidi (Chad) Reed of Lancaster, Ohio; Kristin Baer of Columbus, Ohio; and Madison Baer of Lancaster, Ohio. She was a proud and loving grandmother to eleven grandchildren: Dalton, Kelton, Emma, Kelsie, Race, Morgan, Kiah, Kallen, Kreed, Elliott, and Kade. She is also survived by her brother, Timothy Meloy of Anderson, South Carolina; her sister-in-law, Sandy Kelly of Concord, Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews, and her beloved dogs Maxx and Gigi.

Marcia’s life was marked by faith, devotion, and a heart that gave freely. Her love will continue to live on in all who were blessed to know her.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Fairfield Medical Center and Fairhope Hospice for their exceptional care. A special thank you to Dr. Avneet Singh for the profound compassion she showed Marcia, and for the invaluable counsel and support she provided to our family during this difficult time.

Friends are invited to join the family in a celebration of Marcia’s life at Faith Memorial Church, 2610 W Fair Ave, Lancaster, OH 43130 anytime between 1:30PM and 3:30PM on March 1st, 2026 with remarks from Pastor Matt Kilbarger and Rev.
