Marcia Bakinow Faenza

Marcia Anne Bakinow Faenza, 73, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026 after battling cancer.

Born on January 2, 1953 in Waterbury, CT, Marcia was the fifth of seven children born to Leo and Margaret (Morin) Bakinow. After high school, Marcia attended the Saint Francis School of Nursing in Hartford, CT and received her diploma in nursing. Her career as a registered nurse spanned more than 30 years and touched countless lives across multiple disciplines. Marcia enjoyed singing, playing board and card games, and watching Hallmark Christmas movies any time of the year. She lived most of her life in Connecticut but moved to the Raleigh, NC area in 2014 and remained in the area until her death.

Marcia was predeceased by her middle daughter, Stephanie Ann Faenza, her brother-in-law, Ralph Saenz, and her parents Leo and Margaret Bakinow. She is survived by her oldest daughter, Julie, of Raleigh, NC and her youngest daughter, Amy (Faenza) Roe, her son-in-law Daniel Roe, and her grandchild, Eugene John Roe, all of New London, CT. She is also survived by her older sister Christine Kalman and her brother-in-law Michael, her older sister Marge Saenz, her older sister MaryEllen Rodgers and her brother-in-law Fran; her older brother Steven Bakinow and her sister-in-law Catherine; her younger sister Lorraine Bakinow and her brother-in-law James Matulis; her younger sister Evelyn Manzi and her brother-in-law Michael; and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews.

For those in the Connecticut area wishing to give their condolences to the family, please come by the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Avenue in West Hartford, CT, on Sunday, March 22nd, 2026 between 2pm and 4pm to do so.
