Send Flowers
With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Margaret "Peg" (Palco) Alfano who peacefully left this world on December 13. 2025 in her home in Cumming, Georgia, at the remarkable age of 100 years and 10 months. She was a long-time resident of Palmer Township in Easton, PA, then Northampton, PA, before her move to Georgia late in life. A beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was a living testament to strength, kindness, and enduring love.

Born on February 20, 1925, to Susan (Kuchera) and Andrew Palco of Egypt, PA, Margaret lived a century filled with stories, lessons, and unwavering devotion to her family. She witnessed immense change in the world yet remained grounded in the values that mattered most to her. A woman of deep Catholic faith, Margaret found comfort in her life-long devotion to God.

As a mother, she gave endlessly of herself, guiding her children with wisdom, patience, and unconditional love. As a grandmother, she was a source of gentle guidance, always ready with a laugh, a listening ear, or a story from years gone by. She was ever so supportive and proud of the successes and achievements of her children and grandchildren spread throughout the country. Her home was a place of welcome, where family gathered, and traditions were honored.

Margaret had a quiet strength that carried her through life's joys and challenges. She taught by example - showing gratitude in simple moments and maintaining style and grace in all things. Peg was known for her cooking and baking skills of both Slovak and Italian foods. She also enjoyed gardening and decorating. Her legacy lives on in the generations she nurtured and the values she instilled.

She is survived by her loving children: Jackie Thomson (James) of Atlanta, GA; Gary Alfano (Terry) of Schnecksville, PA; Tony Alfano of San Diego, CA; Maria Forsyth (Devin) of Cumming, GA; six grandchildren: Jonathan, Jessica, Adrianna, Bianca, Samantha, and Tyler; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters Francis Moyer of Center Valley and Helen Thomas of Bethlehem; and an extended family of nieces and nephews - all of whom carry her memory in their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years James "Jack" Alfano and four siblings: Susan Kramer, John Palco, Andrew Palco, and Bernadette Fahringer whom she now joins in eternal peace.

Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing she lived a full and beautiful life, rich in love and purpose. Margaret will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. Joseph J. Kweder on Wednesday January 7, 2026 at Noon in Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church 618 Fullerton Avenue Whitehall, Pennsylvania 18052, where her family will receive guests beginning at 11:00 am

Entombment will follow in Assumption Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Cemetery, Northampton, Pennsylvania.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, kindly make a donation in her name to a worthy and meaningful charity of your choice.
