Margaret Stryker "G$" DeLucia

1941 - 2026

Margaret Stryker "G$" DeLucia, 84, passed away peacefully in Fishers on April 20, 2026, from complications related to Parkinson's disease, surrounded by her family.

Margaret was born on August 3, 1941, in Wilmington, Delaware, and was raised in Carneys Point, New Jersey. She graduated from Ursuline Academy in Wilmington in 1959 (yes—where Elena Delle Donne went). She was the daughter of Harvey I. Stryker, Sr. and Mary C. Stryker.

After raising her family, Margaret built a successful career as an Account Executive and Customer Advocate with MBNA in Wilmington, DE where she worked for more than 15 years before retiring in 2003. She was active in the League of Women Voters and the Democratic Party and always enjoyed a spirited political conversation—if you agreed with her.

Her children were her pride and joy—until she had grandchildren. Then her grandchildren became her pride and joy—until great-grandchildren arrived and took the top spot. Known affectionately as "Gran," by many she embraced her role fully. Even while working, she made it a priority to travel and stay closely connected to her grandchildren, whether in San Antonio, Dallas, or Fishers.
One of her greatest legacies lives on in the many summers spent at the family cottage in Kentmore Park, MD, where she brought her grandchildren together, creating lasting bonds among them and strengthening their connection to a wide and loving extended family.

To many, she was simply "Aunt Margaret," a beloved presence at family holidays, celebrations, and countless kid events. She had a special relationship with each branch of the Stryker family tree and was welcome everywhere she went.
Margaret was a passionate fan of the Philadelphia Eagles—quite possibly the most devoted Eagles fan Texas or Indiana has ever seen. She also enjoyed a glass of white wine on occasion (with ice, please).

For many years, she battled Parkinson's disease with determination and grace. Rather than letting it define her, she became actively involved with Rock Steady Boxing in both Wilmington and Indianapolis, where she even earned the boxing nickname "G$."

She is survived by her three children: Jerome (Marjorie) of San Antonio, Texas; Jeanne, of Carrollton, Texas; and John (Amy) of Fishers; five grandchildren: Joshua, Jillian, Jack, Jacob, and Janelle; and three great-granddaughters: Jianna, Jemma Rae, and Jocelyn. She is also survived by her siblings Romayne Galvin, Sara Jastram, William Stryker, Jane Killman, and Mark Stryker, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Nancy, Harvey, Jr., Jackie Rossi; and her grandson, Jerome DeLucia.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Nurse Asheley, Senior Home Companions, and Paradigm Health Hospice, along with the many others who provided extraordinary care and support.

To accommodate her many friends in Indiana, "pre-funeral" calling hours and a celebration of life will be held Thursday, 4/23 in Craig Willy Hall on the campus of Saint Louis de Montfort Catholic Church from 6 to 9 p.m. A memorial Mass will be held at the parish on Friday at 10:30 a.m. with calling at 9:30.

The Official Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Dennis Catholic Church in Galena, Maryland within the next week or so with interment to follow at Galena Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Rock Steady Boxing.
