**Margaret Marie Miller (née Carmody), 84**
*September 22, 1941 – January 20, 2026*

Margaret Marie Miller, a proud daughter of St. Louis and a woman whose love and laughter shaped generations, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026, in St. Louis, Missouri. She was 84 years old.

Born on September 22, 1941, in St. Louis to Peggy and Emmett Carmody, Margaret grew up with a strong sense of family and heritage that would remain central throughout her life. She attended Beaumont High School, where she began cultivating the creativity and determination that would define her career and personal life.

Margaret dedicated over four decades to her work as a florist—a profession that perfectly matched her artistic spirit and generous heart. She began her floral journey at Russell's Florist and later brought joy to countless others through her work at Surprise! Her arrangements were more than flowers; they were expressions of care, celebration, and remembrance.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Margaret was the heart of a large and loving family. She is deeply cherished by her children: Margaret (Ken), Edwin (Cheryl), and Mary (John). Her legacy continues through her grandchildren—Michael, Danielle, Shannon, Fiona, and John—and great-grandchildren—Lucas, Brooklyn, and Zane—each of whom carries a piece of her spirit forward.

Margaret was also known as “Mom” or “Grandma” to many beyond her immediate family. Whether cousin, dear friend, or neighbor, those who knew her felt the warmth of her unconditional love. Her home was always open; her heart even more so.

She was predeceased by Lucious Topps, her beloved life partner; her parents Peggy and Emmett Carmody; step-sister Joan Neun; and special niece Annie Wersching—all of whom held special places in her heart.

A woman of many talents and passions, Margaret found joy in music across many genres. She expressed herself through drawing and knitting and lovingly crocheted rosaries that became treasured keepsakes for many. She had a fondness for crime shows but found the greatest happiness in time spent with family—laughing together, sharing stories, creating memories.

Her Irish roots were a source of pride throughout her life. That heritage lived not only in tradition but in the strength she showed every day—the kind-hearted resilience that made her an amazing mother and an anchor for all who loved her.

Margaret’s legacy is one of hard work, kindness, talent, laughter—and above all else—love without condition. She crafted a beautiful family with herself at its center. Her lessons will echo through generations: how to love fiercely, laugh often, create beauty from simplicity—and always keep your door open to others.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE: Monday, March 2, 2026 at Michel Funeral Home 5930 Southwest Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63139 from 6-8 p.m.

In true Margaret fashion, we’re keeping it casual and musical. We ask that everyone wear their favorite band or concert T-shirt with nice jeans or slacks. Let’s fill the room with the music and memories she loved so much.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Backstoppers or Stray Rescue—causes close to Margaret’s compassionate heart.

As we say goodbye for now, we remember this Irish blessing:

*May the road rise to meet you,*
*May the wind be always at your back.*
*May the sun shine warm upon your face,*
*The rains fall soft upon your fields.*
*And until we meet again,*
*May God hold you in the palm of his hand.*
