Margaret Huey Turner passed away peacefully, at her home, on December 3, 2025. She was born on September 14, 1937, to Frances and Harold Huey and later joined by her brother, Charles, all of whom predeceased her. Survivors include her husband, Glenn Turner, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Margaret received her bachelor’s degree from Alabama Polytechnic Institute (now Auburn University) in 1959 and her Master of Social Work from LSU in 1963. Familiar to many in the neighborhood for her walks along Jocelyn Hollow Road, Margaret had countless friends from her professional practice and her bike rides throughout West Meade and Hillwood.
Her friendship was treasured by those who knew and loved her. She will long be remembered for her interest in people and their stories and her countless acts of kindness.
If you wish to remember her, Margaret asked that you help someone you do not know who needs your help. Margaret wanted to thank everyone who entered and enriched her life. “Continue the good work.”
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00pm at The Clarendale at Bellevue Place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.
