Margery Elaine Knowles, 74, passed away peacefully at her home in Toronto on January 30, 2026.

Loved and missed by siblings Bill (Rosalie) Knowles, St. Catherines, PEI; Debbie (Chet) MacPhail, Moncton, NB; Susan (James) Hammond, Grand Manan, NB; Bob (Crystal) Knowles, Upper Coverdale, NB; special aunts Beth MacKenzie, Dartmouth, NS and Jean Smith, Moncton, NB; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her parents Rev. Joseph and Marion (Brinton) Knowles of Moncton, NB, her grandparents James H. and Bessie (Trefry) Knowles of Barrington Passage, NS, and Rev. Myron O. and Elaine (Simpson) Brinton of Moncton, NB; special aunts and uncles, Murray and Inez Knowles, Barrington Passage, NS; Marjorie (Knowles) and David Blakeney, Lower Wolfville, NS; Bob "Gint" MacKenzie, Sydney River, NS; and Eric Smith, Moncton.

Born in Wolfville, NS, Margery grew up in NS and NB. Graduated from Sussex High School, Sussex, NB; attended Atlantic Baptist College (now Crandall University, Moncton, NB); and earned her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education degrees at Acadia University, Wolfville, NS. She lived in Toronto for most of her life but always enjoyed coming home to the Maritimes and celebrating Christmas vacations with her parents and extended family. She loved family time in the summers at the Brinton/Knowles cottage in Cavendish, PEI, playing Rook, swimming at the beach, visiting Green Gables, and going for walks and on picnics. In 2008, she joined her siblings as we celebrated our mother's 80th birthday travelling with Mum to Halifax and the Annapolis Valley, NS to visit significant places, including where Margery was born. She was a caring, generous and gentle older sister to her siblings, an avid reader, and enjoyed baking, embroidery, cross-stitch, and going to movies. She enjoyed working with Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship and as a Caregiver to elderly clients.

A private family service will be held later in the spring. Memorial gifts may be given to the Knowles Family Scholarship at Crandall University (www.crandallu.ca) or the charity of your choice.
