Marguerite McGhee age 76 passed away March 10,2026. She was born on March 28, 1949, to the late Lee Andrew and Estella White. Marguerite grew up in Gary, Indiana, where she graduated from Tolleston High School, Class of 1967.
Affectionately known as "Mother Love" to her church family, she joined True Light Fellowship Church in 1998, serving as a member for 28 years. She served as the leader of the Hospitality Ministry and faithfully served on the Mothers' Board. . She dedicated many years working as a cook at Lake County Convalescent Home in Crown Point, Indiana, where she cared for others through her meals. She later worked as a chef at Buffington Harbor in Gary, Indiana, where her love for cooking continued to touch many.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tyrone McGhee; her brothers, Andrew White, Mike White, and Donald White; her sisters, Joe Catherine Dunn and Gracie Mae Lipford; her paternal grandparents, Oscar and Lena White; and her maternal grandparents, Mike and Minnie Hobson. She leaves a lasting legacy to be carried on by her only daughter, Viola (Vinson) Love; her grandchildren, Jaconna Jackson and Victoria (Edward) Scott Sr.; her great-grandchildren, Ja'Diah Belk and Edward Scott Jr.; and her great-great-grandson, Phillip Collins III. Two sisters-in-law, Mammie White and Owana Cheatham; one aunt, Henreen English of Coweta, Oklahoma; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. In addition, she leaves Tyrone Holland, whom she loved like a son. Wake Saturday March 28,2026 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Funeral 11:00 a.m. all services at True Light Fellowship Church 1257 N.
