Marguerite Victoria "Peggy" O'Donnell, 89 years of age, passed away after a brief illness on December 31, 2025, in Victoria, BC, Canada.
Peggy was born in Lachute, Quebec, on May 14, 1936. Her family relocated to Salt Spring Island in her early years.
Peggy then attended nursing school at St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Victoria, BC, graduating in 1958. Peggy excelled in her nursing career, working in many specialties throughout Victoria, Calgary and Regina. She developed strong, lasting friendships with her peers, continuing past her final retirement at age 80.
Peggy enjoyed traveling to see her daughters in California, Australia, and northern BC. She was an avid shopper and enjoyed playing the penny slots with her best friend, Joan.
She was a cherished mother and is survived by her daughters, Anna Michele McCue - Prince George, BC, Diana Elaine Morgan - Byron Bay, Australia, and Annette Renee Godwin - Palm Springs, California.
She was a cherished grandmother survived by her grandchildren, Liam Girard- Denver, Colorado, Kaid Girard - Victoria, BC, Maddie Morgan - Sidney, Australia,
Hunter Morgan - Byron Bay, Australia.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Anna and Thomas O'Donnell, and siblings, Paul Lynch - Victoria, BC, Betty Beanland - Langly, BC, Barbara Callendar - Carnation, Washington, Garth Lynch - BC, Ted O'Donnell - Victoria, BC, and Tim O'Donnell - Fulford Harbour, BC.
Peggy was a loyal, kind soul and will be missed by all who knew her. She always went out of her way to make others comfortable, and her sense of humor was infectious.
A very special thank you to Ramona Sytsma, who was like a daughter to Peggy. Ramona, you were always there in times of need, and we could not be more grateful for your unwavering support.
We are comforted in knowing that Peggy has gone home to Anna and Tom.
We will miss your presence but will always carry you in our hearts forever and a day.
A celebration of life will be planned in the future.
