Maria C. Barrera Carbajal

Maria Celia Barrera Carbajal passed away on January 2, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones as she entered peacefully into eternal rest. She was 87 years old. She was born on March 4, 1938, to Toribio Barerra and Maria Gonzalez Barerra. Maria Celia was a devoted wife and mother and grandmother and great grandmother who always made sure everyone was well taken care and her everyday prayers for all her family She was a strong woman in her Catholic faith.
She is survived by two daughters Norma(Richard) Saenz and Nora L Hofstetter and one son Reynaldo Carbajal Jr all from Falfurrias. She had 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her siblings and the love of her life, her husband of 59 years Reynaldo M . Carbajal.

A Holy Rosary will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday January 7, 2026, at the Alaniz Funeral Home with the Funeral Mass to follow at 11:15 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be held at the Falfurrias Burial Park.
Pallbearers are Jerry Vargas, Richard T. Saenz, Cody Hofstetter, Zackary J. Saenz, Marty Martinez and Jose Maria Soliz.
