Maria Ciano

Maria Ciano, 88, of Pequannock, New Jersey, passed away on September 29, 2025 in West Palm Beach, FL. She was born and raised in Ferruzzano, Italy, where she was the youngest of five siblings. She came to the United States when she was 18 years old and went to school to become a beautician. She later went to work for Evan Piccone as a seamstress. She returned to Italy for a visit where she met her late husband Rocco, and they got married before returning to the United States. They later settled in Pequannock where they raised their three daughters.

Maria was a talented seamstress and owned a dress shop in Pequannock for a few years, but always sewed at home making dresses and other items for family and friends. She found great joy in cooking for her family and baking for gatherings with family and friends. She was also an active member of Holy Spirit Church, where she participated in the choir for many years and formed many lasting friendships.

Maria is survived by her children, Tina LaTorre and husband Peter, Teresa Tomeu and husband Enrique, and Vanessa Saracino. She was a cherished grandmother to Christa, Jordan, Alexa, and Kiko.

Family and friends are invited to a funeral mass at 10:30 am on October 20, 2025 at Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church in Pequannock.
