Maria Celia Garcia, age 88, entered eternal rest on January 4, 2026. She was born on June 5, 1937, in Premont, Texas, where her life began and later came full circle.

Maria Celia was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Rafael M. Garcia and Celia Saenz Garcia; and her brothers, Ismael “Milo” Garcia, Ruben Garcia, and Oscar Garcia.

She is survived by her loving siblings, Angelita Garcia Salinas and Rafael S. Garcia (Estella). She also leaves behind numerous cherished nieces and nephews: Raul, Anna, Melinda, Cindy, Selina, Sergio, Manuel, Jorge, Lisi, Dorina, Gabriel, John, Chon, Ismael, and Veronica, as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews and Bailey. Though she had no children of her own, Maria Celia considered many others her nieces and nephews and loved them as family.
Maria Celia lived for several years in Irving, Texas, where she worked at Safeway in the bakery. Upon returning to Premont, she continued her passion for baking while working at H-E-B in Falfurrias as a baker and cake decorator. Through her work, she brought joy to countless families by helping celebrate life’s special moments.
A woman of strength and deep devotion to her family, Maria Celia will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the love she shared so freely. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A Rosary and Mass will be held at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Premont, Texas, on January 17, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Funeral services will follow at the Premont Cemetery.
