Maria M. Pierce (also known as Margot), 87, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025, in Tampa, Florida. Born on May 13, 1938, in Czechoslovakia, Maria lived a life rooted in faith, love, and devotion to family.

A loving wife of nearly 60 years, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Maria was also a cherished spiritual matriarch and a pillar of faith to many. Deep love for Jehovah and appreciation for a worldwide spiritual family shaped daily life and relationships. Faithful worship at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses remained central throughout the years.

Maria completed high school in Kempten, Germany, and devoted life's work to family as a homemaker. Married in 1956 and baptized in 1969, Maria's life reflected enduring commitment to marriage and faith. Her great joy was having a close relationship with Jehovah and teaching others about Him. Creative pursuits included painting, knitting, and crocheting.

Maria was preceded in death by husband Nathaniel Pierce; son Marcus Pierce; daughter Carlinda Pierce Levasseur; sons-in-law Gary Levasseur and John R. Payne Jr.; parents; brothers; and sister.

Survivors include son Tony Pierce Sr., his wife Wanda, of Delaware; daughters Maria A. Payne, of New Jersey, and Linda Parham, her husband Jeffrey, of Tampa; daughter-in-law Jacquline Pierce; grandchildren Natalia Payne, Rhiannan Pierce, Tony Pierce Jr., Melissa Pierce, Sheraud Pierce (Christina), Genesis Crowley, Dylan Crowley, Tatiana Payne, Sherryl Pierce, and Juliana Dorofy (Phillip); great-grandchildren Katelynn, Melody, Hailey, Jordan, Cheyenne, and Lorimer; along with many nieces and nephews.

Affectionately called Mom or Mama Pierce by many, Sister Pierce leaves behind a record of faithfulness that lives on, and to Jehovah, she is still living (Luke 20:37, 38; Hebrews 11:4). With confidence in His promises, her spiritual family and friends look forward to the near future when they will again see her beautiful face and be embraced by her warm hugs. Until then, she will be remembered for her steadfast faith, loving spirit, and enduring influence on family and spiritual brothers and sisters.

A memorial service will be held on February 7, 2026, at a local Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
