Mrs. Maria De La Concepción "Maricusa" Peets (maiden - Diez), age 78, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025, in Miami, Florida.
Born on January 27, 1947, in Las Villas, Cuba, Maria brought with her a deep sense of devotion to family and faith that would shape every chapter of her life. She made her home in Miami, after leaving Cuba in 1970 and living a short while in Spain.
Maria dedicated the last 37 years of her life as a hairdresser and manager at Supercuts. Her work was more than just a job—it was an extension of her care for others. Through the decades, she built lasting relationships with clients and colleagues alike. She really enjoyed her job and worked up to the end.
A woman of deep faith, Maria was a devoted member of Iglesia Misionera Renovación for over 30 years. Her involvement in the church was a cornerstone of her life. She found joy and purpose in worship and fellowship, often participating in church activities and sharing her love for music—especially opera & Christian songs with those around her.
Maria cherished time spent with her family above all else. She is lovingly remembered by her sister Marta Diez; her children Alexander Peets/spouse Stacey and Christine Rodriguez/spouse Gilberto; grandchildren Michael, Alexandra, Ariella, Tatiana, and Judah; and great-grandchildren Olivia and Samuel. Her late husband Leonard Peets preceded her in death in 2014.
Maria's legacy is one of love—for God, for music, for service to others—and most especially for the family she held so dear. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
