Mariah Alexandra Meredith, 31, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2025, at MUSC in Charleston, South Carolina, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 6, 1994, in Charlotte, North Carolina, Mariah brought light and laughter into the world from the very beginning.
She was a graduate of Triton High School in Erwin, North Carolina. From a young age, Mariah was known for her vibrant spirit and compassionate heart. A loving Christian and longtime member of Pleasant Memory Baptist Church in Coats, North Carolina, she began attending services with her grandparents at just four years old. Her faith remained a guiding force throughout her life.
Mariah had a deep love for music and found joy in its rhythms and melodies. She cherished time spent at the beach, where the sound of waves and the warmth of the sun brought her peace. An advocate for animals, she fostered cats with care and devotion. Her commitment to helping others extended beyond animals—she dedicated herself to mentoring individuals with disabilities, offering encouragement and understanding drawn from her own experiences.
Known affectionately as "LuLu" Mariah had an infectious sense of humor and a fun-loving nature that endeared her to everyone she met. She was often described as an old soul—wise beyond her years—with a gift for bringing smiles to those around her.
Mariah's memory will be forever treasured by her family: her father Dana Neil Meredith Jr. and stepmother Kimberly Meredith; mother Elizabeth Whitley and stepfather Brian Whitley; sister Macey Meredith; brother William Meredith; grandmothers Peg Meredith and Tonda Crowe; grandparents Larry and Yvonne Rogers; along with many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She now joins in rest her grandfathers Dana Neil Meredith Sr. and George Lamar Crump.
Mariah's legacy is one of joy, compassion, and unwavering love—a beautiful young woman who touched countless lives through kindness and laughter. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 10, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Pleasant Memory Baptist Chruch 579 Old Stage Rd N, Coats NC 27521. The family will receive friends and family immediately after service in the fellowship hall. Also at the home of Dana and Kimberly in Coats.
