Marianne Brzys

Marianne "Cookie Grandma" Brzys passed away peacefully on February 7, 2026, in Grosse Ile, Michigan, just ten days before her 93rd birthday. Born on February 17, 1933, in Dearborn, Michigan, Marianne lived a long and meaningful life filled with love, creativity, and devotion to family.

She was the beloved mother of Rick Brzys (Loren), Allena Michelson (Dan), Sandy Corbeill (Andy), Cindy Yadlowsky (Matt), Mark Brzys (Melissa), and Chris Brzys (Brenda), and the cherished sister of Linda Davis (Bill). Marianne was preceded in death by her Husband Norm, her brother Charlie, her sister Fran Pariseau, her son David, and her grandson Derek.

Affectionately known as "Cookie Grandma," Marianne's legacy lives on through her many grandchildren: Danny (Becky), Tracy (Kenneth), Jason (Emily), Jenny (Richie), Ryan (Vanessa), Sam (Bryon), Melissa, Hailey, Dylan, Brandon (Sarah), Devin, Rachel, Jessie, Ian, CJ (Lauren), Teddy (Samantha), Carli, Norman, and Joanne. Her love extended to her great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Tabatha, Josh, Noah, Jake, Ashley (Kyle), Gage, Tristan, Monroe, Ruby, Kilee, Xoee, Rylee, Charli, and Dylan, and niece Robin Wheatley (Dennis).

Marianne found joy in life's simple pleasures. She treasured the natural beauty of northern Michigan and spent countless hours reading. A lifelong admirer of *The Wizard of Oz*, she embraced its sense of wonder throughout her life. Her artistic talents shone through in painting and crafts. In the kitchen, she was a gifted cook whose meals brought comfort to generations. Above all else, Marianne had a deep love for children and shared her warmth generously.

Her home was a place of laughter and the sweet scent of baking cookies—a haven where stories were shared and traditions cherished. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her and continue to inspire love across generations.
