Marie (Saulnier) Curtin of Newburyport, formerly of Lynn MA and St. Pete, Florida, passed away on November 17th at Beverly Hospital after a short term battle with lung disease.
Marie grew up in Lynn where she graduated from Lynn Classical High in 1957, then worked at John Hancock in Boston. She married John T Clossey from Lyndhurst NJ, whom she met in Lynn while he was on active duty in the Army. Marie and John then moved to Lyndhurst N.J. where they made their home with their two children Deborah and John. Several years later New England called Marie back to her roots, where she lived for many years until moving to St. Pete Florida. Marie worked at Compugraphic in Wilmington Ma while in New England, then worked at the Home Shopping Network until her retirement. In 2021 Marie moved back to Massachusetts to be closer to her family.
Marie frequently made 1000-2000 piece puzzles, she read romance novels, but shared a great love of country music with her partner and musician Gary who played the steel guitar. She also fulfilled one of her dreams of going to the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville and loved it.
Marie leaves behind her daughter Deborah Martel and husband Paul from Newburyport Ma, and her son John Clossey and wife Wanda from Norridgewock Maine.
She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Marie was predeceased by her Father, William Saulnier, her Mother, Eva (Obey) Saulnier, as well as her sister Jeanette (Saulnier) Thibodeau. She is also predeceased by her first husband and the father of her children John T Clossey.
Marie is survived by her four brothers, Robert Saulnier (Lori) of Connecticut, Bill Saulnier (Nancy) of Tewkesbury Ma, Richard Saulnier (Linda) of Lynn Ma and Jim Saulnier (Joy) of Rochester NH as well as several nieces and nephews.
