Mrs. Marie Louise "Mary" (Cartin) Davis, age 88, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026, in Bristol, Pennsylvania. Born on August 19, 1937, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Mary was the eldest of six children and cherished her close bond with her siblings throughout her life.
Mary married the love of her life, Bill Davis, in 1956. Together, they built a beautiful family and a life filled with love and devotion. Over the course of twenty one years, Mary dedicated herself to raising their eight children: Regina (Davis) Buzzard and her husband Peter; Mary Ellen Davis and her husband Mark Bigelow; Dennis Davis and his wife Kristine; James Davis and his wife Andrea; Harry Davis and his wife Dawn; Suzanne (Davis) Desnoyers and her husband Jeffrey; and Patrick Davis and his wife Contessa. Mary’s nurturing spirit extended to her grandchildren—Joshua, William, Erin, Robert Jacob, Harry, Matthew, Patrick, Josephine, Justis, Samantha, Violet, Alexa and Nora—and great-grandchildren Eleanor, William Jr., and Victor. Holidays were especially meaningful to Mary as she delighted in the joy of having her family together.
Mary was predeceased by her husband William; beloved son William Davis; her sister Patricia McCusker; and her brothers James Cartin and Joseph Cartin. She is survived by her sisters Margaret Frey and Geraldine Glatthorn.
A woman of many passions, Mary found immense joy in dancing—a favorite pastime that brought lightness to her days. "We are family" and "Moonglow" were just two of her favorites. The radio was always on in the kitchen. She also loved spending time at the Jersey Shore where she could often be found swimming or floating on her back over the swells in the ocean’s waves. Let's not forget her favorite TV show - General Hospital! Mary will be remembered for enjoying doing the daily crossword puzzle and rooting for the Phillies and the Eagles. These simple pleasures reflected Mary’s zest for life.
After raising their children and as Bill entered retirement, Mary embraced a new chapter alongside him. They became active members of a retirees’ group from Bill’s union. Together they traveled across the country making new friends and creating lasting memories.
Mary’s legacy is one of love for family and an appreciation for life’s special moments. Her warmth touched all who knew her.
May her memory bring comfort to those who mourn her passing.
