Marie Hurt passed away surrounded by the love of her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and the heart of her family.
Marie was the youngest of three sisters, born to Anthony Rocco and Betty DiBenedetto. She grew up alongside her sisters Lisa and Cookie. At a young age, Marie faced the challenge of raising her children as a single mother after her divorce, and she met that challenge with strength, determination, and endless love.
She began working at Kmart and later worked as a secretary, eventually building a career in banking as a mortgage processor and loan officer. Through hard work and perseverance, she provided everything she could for her family, even during times when money was tight. What her children remember most is that they never felt like they were missing anything because their mother always made sure they were taken care of.
Marie showed her love through caring for others, especially through her cooking and her constant devotion to family. She was funny, caring, smart, and selfless. Her greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter Maria; her son Tim and daughter-in-law Laura; her sister Lisa; and her beloved grandchildren TJ, Shawn, and Thea, who were the light of her life. She was also a loving aunt to many nephews and one cherished niece.
Her family will always remember the daily phone calls, the laughter they shared, and the countless ways she showed her love through caring for those around her.
Marie fought hard until the very end, not for herself, but for the people she loved most. Her life was defined by her kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
