90 years of age and a resident of Whitehall Township, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, January 9, 2026, with her goddaughter Wanetta Naylor at her side.
Born in Shamokin, PA, to the late Frank & Stella (Olshefski) Stuczynski, she was the loving wife of James G. Koutsouros for 35 years before his passing on September 7, 2000.
Marie graduated from St. Edward High School, Coal Township, PA, St. Joseph Nursing School, Reading, PA, and received a Master of Science Degree in Education from Temple University. She worked at various hospitals in Reading, Philadelphia, and Allentown, PA, retiring after 47 years in nursing, 25 of those at Lehigh Valley Home Care.
Marie was a devoted member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in Whitehall and a former member of its choir. She was also a member of the choir at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Bethlehem and of the Daughters of Penelope, many years ago.
Predeceased by her sister JoAnn Filing, she is survived by her brother, Thomas Stuczynski, of Dansville, NY. Although she had no children of her own, Marie was loved by her many nieces, nephews, and their children and grandchildren, as well as the many children she helped raise over the years. Known as Minnie, she had a special “Granddaughter”, Ava Herzer. She will also be missed by her many close friends and acquaintances.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. Joseph J. Kweder on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 10:00 am in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, 618 Fullerton Ave. Whitehall, PA 18052, where her viewing will begin at 9:00 am.
Interment will be at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown.
