Marilee Cherry Hammer

Marilee Cherry Hammer, a.k.a. Sunshine, of Denver, Colorado passed away peacefully at her home on October 4, 2025. At 67 she completed many of her life goals including being a Wife, Mother figure, Sister and Friend. Her absence will be felt by those whose life she has touched.
Born February 4, 1958, and raised in Fairview Park, Ohio, Marilee attended Messiah Lutheran School and Church then eventually headed to Fairview Park High School. Her Superpower of a Great attitude of being Optimistic, living life with open arms and dealing with diabetes gave us lessons which will never be forgotten.
Always enjoying music, her favorite album was CSN&Y - 4 Way Street. Eric Carmen, Steve Forbert, David Bowie and of course The Michael Stanley Band were standards on top of her favorites list. Reading was always a great passion, and a great number of books (always with 1 or 2 in process) were added to her accomplishment list.
As a free spirit, Marilee was not afraid to live her own life. Her laughter and spirit brightened the lives of all who knew her. Pets (from Jiffy to Zowie) were always evident as many dogs, cats and hamsters enjoyed their lives under her protection.
Mare felt the urge to go West and settled in Denver, which continually proved to be a great decision. Meeting Ricky Clifton some 37 years ago solidified her base and strength in life which allowed her passions to be applied and shared with all she touched.
Marilee follows her Father Fred Hammer and is survived by her husband Ricky Clifton, Mother Cherry Hammer of Medina, OH; siblings Mark (Dawn) Hammer of Canonsburg, PA: Mindy Cepec of Spencer, OH and Martin (Gretchen) Hammer of Midlothian, VA. The Niece and Nephew train began with Bradley Hammer getting love smothered and continued with Nicole Showah, McKenna Hammer Rachel Hammer, Mitch Hammer and Kyle Hammer.
Roger Goetz, Dolly Stoddart, Laurel Palmisano, Dawn Urban, Tim Dodd, Bobby Dodd, Pamela Brown are cousins strongly involved in her life.
Of course, all that knew Marilee are aware of her strong mothering nature which was felt by her extended family who entered her orbit...Kalah, Emeri, Jaylah, Quin, Cyenna, Tommy, Gabe, Bob & Stacy...
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held in both Denver, Co and Fairview Park, OH,
