Marilyn Sue Lowe (née Elpers), age 88, who passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026, in Normal, Illinois. Marilyn was born on January 1, 1938, in Logansport, Indiana, to Howard and Margaret Elpers.

On December 9, 1961, Marilyn married William L. Lowe. Together they built a family filled with love and cherished memories. She was predeceased by her beloved husband William; her daughters Kelly (Mark) Boyd and Doris James; grandson Dylan Russell; great-grandsons Johnathan Shelmedine and Dean Williams; and great-granddaughter Ashtyn Storm.

Marilyn is survived by her children: Lynn (Gary) Shelmedine and their children Tim and Mikel; Linda (John) Weed and their children Samantha, Sarah, Seirra, Stephanie, and Sheyanne; Danita Russell and her children Bryce and Parker; Brenda Lowe and her children Betsy, Megan, and Makayla; Kimberly (Jeff) Zumwalt and their children Amanda, Dustin, and Chelsey; William (Lisa) Lowe and their children Kathryn and Kimberly; Jeanie (Doug) Cade and their children Brittiany and Courtney; Patti (Sam) Spriggs and their children Shannon, Nicholas, Leslie, Clinton, Bradley, Madison; Larry (Susie) Lowe and their children Jessica, Larry "LJ" Jr. , Justin. She also leaves behind grandchildren Tiffany Boyd, Natasha Satterfeal, Christopher Boyd, Susanne Miller, Stephie Ealy Foach as well as many great-grandchildren who will carry forward her legacy.

Marilyn had a passion for crocheting and sewing. She found joy in creating beautiful blankets that brought warmth to those she loved. Her hands were rarely still as she poured care into every stitch. She also loved playing bingo—a pastime that brought her both entertainment and friendship.

Marilyn's greatest joy came from spending time with her family. Regardless if they were just up the road or across the country she was always present in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Her unwavering love for them was evident in every moment she shared with them.

Marilyn will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her.
