Marilyn Joan Mowbray

Born in 1940 in Oakland Ca. Marilyn moved with her parents and siblings to Tucson Az in 1952. She was a graduate of Tucson High when she met and married her husband Gilbert F. Mowbray Jr who was stationed at Davis Monthan AFB while serving in the Air Force. Together they raised 4 children and was a big part of their lives. Marilyn along with her husband had traveled extensively. Family trips and get togethers were always high on her list. As her children had grown and left the nest Marilyn and her husband made a huge change and went into the fast food restaurant business. They owned and operated several in Tucson and finally several in Midland Tx. As her husband's health declined she took over full operation of the business and spent a great deal of time caring for her husband. Eventually she sold her business and moved back to Tucson so her husband could pass away at home. At that point she retired spending time between her dogs, garden and mystery novels. She passed quietly in her sleep December 1st 2025 at the age of 85. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her but especially by her family.
Marilyn was preceded to the hereafter by her husband of 44 years Gilbert F Mowbray Jr. Marilyn is survived by the following children: Melinda A. and David Chitwood, Wendy V. and Paul Hendry, Gilbert F. and Debra L. Mowbray III, Kenneth M. Mowbray PhD. Grandchildren: Matthew Chitwood and Brooke Bevel, Leigha Chitwood McBride, Erin Chitwood Brandt and Chris Brandt, Jason and Donna Hendry, Kimberly Hendry Martinez and Domingo Martinez, Gilbert F. Mowbray IV, Breighanna L. and Nick Mowbray-Lowe, Nadia N. Walsh and Christian Acevedo. Great Grandchildren: Joshua, Addison and Holden Hendry, Ethan, Emma, Peyton and Elizabeth Martinez, Jaiden and Paizleigh Gordy, Lena Brandt.
Marilyn will be interred with her husband in the Veterans section of East Lawn Palms 5801 E. Grant Rd. Tucson Az.
No flowers please. In lieu of flowers donations to Catholic Charities USA or ASPCA are Marilyn's preferences.
