Marilyn Kordon Rubinson made an entrance every time she walked into a room. From fashion to family gatherings, she led with elegance, style, and unmistakable presence. Poised, stylish, and unforgettable, she was — and will always be — “The Queen Mother of All of Us.”
Born on October 22, 1924, in Brooklyn, New York, Marilyn was the beloved daughter of Pearl and Murray Kordon. She grew up in New York, developing the sophistication and confidence that would become her signature.
Marilyn was the devoted wife of Norman Rubinson, who predeceased her. Together they built a life grounded in deep love and family.
She was the cherished mother of Glenna Norton (Nigel) and Mitchell Rubinson (Edda); grandmother to Jaime Rubinson, Kim Glaser (Todd), Channing Leeds (Steven), and Dylan Norton; and adoring great-grandmother to Levi, Chloe, Stone, and Coral Glaser; Sky Shashoua; and Royce and Sterling Leeds.
Marilyn brought her passion for fashion to life as the founder of Caché, the iconic women’s clothing brand. Under her leadership, Caché grew into a nationally recognized retailer known for sophistication and glamour. With more than 200 locations, the brand became synonymous with timeless elegance — a true reflection of Marilyn herself. Even years later, women would stop her to say they still treasured a favorite Caché outfit in their closets.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Marilyn was the matriarch who set an example for her family and everyone she touched. She loved her family fiercely and unconditionally, celebrating every milestone with pride in her 101 years as a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her strength, style, and unwavering devotion defined her life.
Marilyn’s legacy lives on in the family she nurtured, the business she built, and the love she gave so generously. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered as our Queen Mother.
