Marion "Ricci" Renno passed away peacefully on March 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
She was the beloved wife of Ralph Renno and the devoted and cherished mother of Maureen, Kathy (Steve), Ralph (Kim), and Margaret (Geoff). She was the treasured grandmother of Michael, Anthony, Alexandra, Jake, Sara, Montana, Danielle, Peyton, Jordan, and Sabrina. She was blessed with the joy of her great-grandchild, Elle, and was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her second great-grandchild.
Ricci was born on November 18, 1939, to Marion and Fredrick Stocker in a home filled with love and laughter in the Beverly neighborhood of Chicago. She was the cherished youngest of three siblings and the quintessential baby sister. Her childhood consisted of yearly summertime months in her beloved Coloma, Wisconsin which she also introduced to her own children.
She attended Longwood Academy and later went on to attend Quincy College. During that time, she met the love of her life, Ralph Renno, her husband of 64 years. They shared laughter, quiet comfort, and an unbreakable partnership - a truly rare and treasured friendship lasting a lifetime. They formed everlasting friendships during her college years that endured throughout their lifetime.
Ricci began her career in teaching before transitioning into a successful real estate practice. She eventually settled in Elmhurst, Illinois, where she raised her four children, all of whom adored her. With a loving heart, she fostered deep and lasting friendships in Elmhurst.
She enjoyed playing tennis, bridge and sewing clothes for family and friends. She took great pride and joy in tending her English garden at her home on Webster.
Her favorite time of year was Christmas, when she gathered with family and friends around a beautifully decorated tree, a lifelike Santa and a snowy miniature village she carefully assembled each year. She planned and never missed Christmas family trips to Chicago to see the store windows, Macy's tree and holiday decorations throughout the city.
Ricci vacationed in Florida starting an Elmhurst tradition of Spring Break family group trips to Ormond Beach and Sarasota, Florida. She then spent over 30 years during the winter months in Naples, Florida, where she and Ralph fostered many cherished friendships that endured throughout her life. She embraced the Italian heritage she adopted through marriage, delighting her family with pasta dishes her grandchildren frequently requested.
Her faith was a constant presence in her life, first at Christ the King Parish and later at Immaculate Conception Parish in Elmhurst. She embodied care, compassion, and a fierce loyalty to those she loved.
A Mass celebrating her life will be held at Immaculate Conception Parish, 134 Arthur Street, Elmhurst, Illinois 60126 on May 15, 2026, at 9:30 am.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Precious Blood Ministry of Reconciliation, PO Box 09379, Chicago, Illinois 60609.
