Maritza Kaufmann (née Perez), age 72, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026, in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Born on July 29, 1953, in the Bronx, New York, Maritza grew up in Redhook, Brooklyn before settling in Staten Island, NY. Maritza lived a life defined by love, strength, and devotion to her family and faith.

A devoted Catholic, Maritza’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She found solace and strength in her beliefs and carried them with grace throughout her journey. Her unwavering courage and wisdom were matched only by her boundless generosity and humor. Known for being the heart of her family, she brought joy and laughter to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Maritza was a proud and loving mother to her son Martin Kaufmann and daughters Larisa Kaufmann and Sara Fox. She was also a cherished grandmother to Jimmy, Jayme, Martin, Haley, Charles, William, Christian, Marlowe, and Jordan. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren as well. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Charles and their son Charles but carried their memory with her every day.

She found immense joy in traveling and embarking on long car rides that allowed her to explore while creating lasting memories with those she loved most. Above all else, she treasured time spent with her family and moments filled with laughter, connection, and love.
