Born on July 29, 1953, in the Bronx, New York, Maritza grew up in Redhook, Brooklyn before settling in Staten Island, NY. Maritza lived a life defined by love, strength, and devotion to her family and faith.
A devoted Catholic, Maritza’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She found solace and strength in her beliefs and carried them with grace throughout her journey. Her unwavering courage and wisdom were matched only by her boundless generosity and humor. Maritza was a proud and loving mother to her son Martin Kaufmann and daughters Larisa Kaufmann and Sara Fox.
