Marjorie Caroline Plant (née Vaughn), age 91, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025, in Harlingen, Texas. Born on August 18, 1934, in Jacksonville, Georgia, she spent her early years in Florida and graduated from Leesburg High School in Leesburg.
In her youth, Marjorie was recognized in several beauty pageants. She was crowned Miss Leesburg in 1950 and went on to become second runner-up for Miss Florida. In 1953, she earned the title of Miss Florida Wildlife. A talented water skier, she performed at Silver Springs, Florida, showcasing her adventurous spirit.
Marjorie married Harry Jack Plant in 1961. In 1964, they welcomed their son, Jackson Vaughn "Rocky" Plant.
She enjoyed a successful career as a Data Processing Manager with Western Union Corporation. Her dedication and leadership left a lasting impression on her colleagues throughout her tenure.
In 1973, Marjorie and her family moved to Bent Tree as one of its pioneer residents. Her warm and outgoing nature quickly made her a cherished member of the community.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Jack Plant; her father, Jim Vaughn; mother, Bess Hufford; and special lifelong friend, Wayne Bussey.
She is lovingly remembered by her sister and brother-in-law, Jimmy Vaughn Johnson and Walt Johnson; son and daughter-in-law, Jackson Vaughn "Rocky" Plant and Julie M. Plant; stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, William Plant and Eva Plant; stepdaughter, Barbara Plant Loper; stepson, Robert J. Plant; step-grandchildren, Angela Cretegny (Laurent) and Joe Plant (Kathy); step-great-grandchildren, Tabitha Rackley and Annabelle Maugham (Philip); and step-great-great-grandchildren, Nathan Cretegny, Damien Cretegny, Trevor Rackley, and Donovan Rackley.
She also leaves behind dear friends Jamie and Mark Bussey, Laura Bussey, Mila Shuda, and Angie Higgins.
Marjorie's legacy is one of elegance, strength, and enduring kindness. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
There will be a celebration of life service at later date.
