Mark Louis Koenig, 67, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025, in O'Fallon, Missouri. Born on November 30, 1958, in St. Louis, Missouri, Mark lived a life marked by dedication—to his family, his profession, his community, and his faith.
Mark was married to his beloved wife Teresa for 40 years—a partnership grounded in love and mutual support. Together they raised two daughters, Heather and Candace, who brought him immense pride and joy.
Mark earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Southwest Missouri State University. He went on to become a Certified Public Accountant and built a career as a self-employed CPA. Through his work, he helped many people navigate their financial lives with integrity and care.
An avid outdoorsman, Mark found great joy in nature. He was active in the Boy Scouts and enjoyed caving, camping, canoeing, and just spending time outside. These passions were often shared with his family, creating lasting memories that will be cherished for generations.
Faith played an important role in Mark's life. He was very active in his church until mobility issues limited his participation. His commitment to service extended beyond the sanctuary walls into every aspect of his life.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Lera and Arthur. He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion through his wife Teresa, children Heather (AJ) and Candace, grandchildren Haylee, Weston, Oliver, and Charlotte, and all those whose lives he touched. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire acts of kindness and dedication.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 9:00am - 11:00am with a funeral service to follow at 11:00am at Zion Lutheran Church at 3866 Old Hwy 94 S in St. Charles. Lunch will follow the service.
