Mark Edward Olson

Mark Edward Olson, 68, passed away on March 27, 2026, in Sarasota, Florida.

Born July 25, 1957, in Los Angeles County, California. Mark lived a life marked by reflection and purpose. His connection to faith was practiced through daily reflections which brought him peace throughout his life.



Mark built a career as a Project Superintendent working with commercial contractors on projects located across central and South Florida. He was passionate about what he did. Mark had the ability to bring people together around shared goals which left a lasting impact on the communities they served.



Mark was an avid sports fan and looked forward to watching the Little League World Series along with any sport on TV. He loved motor sports and exotic sports cars. He attended HSR, GrandAm, IMSA and NASCAR races whenever time allowed. His last two races were the Daytona 500 and the Tropicana 400 with his son, Kevin.



Mark is survived by stepparents Patricia Olson of Parrish, FL and Kelly Parrish of Sarasota, FL; siblings Wayne Gregory (Lori) of Parrish, FL and Dorothy Willard (Lenny) of Port Charlotte; as well as generations of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his beloved children Kevin Olson and Steven Olson of Sarasota; parents Charles Olson and Lois Parrish; and his grandparents. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the employees of Savannah Grand of Sarasota for their care and support in Mark's final years.



Mark had an easy smile, a heartwarming chuckle and a calm, caring demeanor. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved him.



A celebration of Life will be held on April 23, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at New Day Christian Church 6221 Proctor Rd Sarasota, FL
