Mark Robertson, age 71, passed away on December 11th, 2025, in hospice care surrounded by love and peace. Born in Iaeger, McDowell County, West Virginia, Mark spent most of his life in the hills and communities of southern West Virginia and beyond, making his home in White Oak, Beckley, Moorefield, and most recently Hinton, West Virginia. He also spent meaningful seasons of his life in Summertown, Tennessee, and Fort Myers, Florida.
Mark was a quiet soul with an appreciation for the simple, beautiful things in life. He loved listening to music, creating art, and gardening—places where he found joy, expression, and calm.
He is survived by his mother, Doreen Robertson of Newburgh, Indiana; his siblings Ann Robertson of Charleston, West Virginia; Jane Cox (James) of Round Rock, Texas; and Joe Robertson (Janeth) of Newburgh, Indiana; along with several nieces and nephews.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, Hansel N. Robertson, of Newburgh, Indiana, and by his wife, Polly Ann (Ashenfelter) Robertson, of Moorefield, West Virginia.
In keeping with the family's wishes, there will be no memorial or funeral service. Those who feel moved to honor his memory may make donations to Summers Healthcare Center, 198 John Cook Nursing Home Rd., Hinton, WV 25951.
