Mark H Swierenga

Mark H. Swierenga, 67, of Kemah, Texas, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2026, surrounded by his family. Mark was born on June 21,1958 to Henry and Margaret Swierenga from Park Ridge, Illinois. Mark attended Illinois State University then began working as a project manager in the construction field, a field which he would continue working in for the rest of his life. He enjoyed playing basketball, skiing, and riding around Fox Lake on his boat with friends.
Mark treasured the time he spent with his two children, Alexa (Lexi) and Zak, and enjoyed vacationing with them. He was a devoted father. Mark will be remembered for his loud and joyful laugh, his boisterous personality, and his love for the Lord.
Mark will be deeply missed by his family. He was father to Alexa and Zak; brother of Peggy Camp, Doug (Jill) Swierenga, Jeff (Patricia) Swierenga, and Barb (Jeff) Jorian; and former husband of Karen Swierenga. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The immediate family will gather for a private service to be held in Texas.
