Mark Twietmeyer, 60, passed away on March 8, 2025, in Cissna Park, Illinois. Born on December 16, 1964, in Harvey, Illinois, Mark spent his life rooted in the values of family, hard work, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors.
Mark dedicated his career to the family business, where he worked with commitment and pride. His professional life was an extension of his personal values—steadfastness, reliability, and a willingness to lend a hand whenever needed.
A man of many passions, Mark found joy and purpose in nature. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and took great pride in his garden. These weren't just hobbies for him—they were traditions he lovingly passed down to his family. He taught those closest to him how to fish the quiet lakes of Illinois, how to track game through the woods with patience and respect, and how to coax life from the soil with care and dedication. These lessons continue today through the hands and hearts of those he taught.
Mark's generosity extended far beyond his immediate circle. He was always ready to help others—whether it was offering advice on planting seasons or lending a hand when someone needed support. His giving spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He is remembered with love by his three siblings: Craig Twietmeyer, Darla Carberry, and Juli Twietmeyer; as well as four nephews and one niece: Conner (Amanda) Carberry, Nolan Carberry, Devin (Brianna) Twietmeyer, Jamie Carlisle, Heidi Twietmeyer, two great nieces & three great nephews. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Helmuth and Doris Twietmeyer.
In honor of Mark's lifelong love for nature and conservation, donations may be made in his memory to the Izaak Walton League - Homewood Chapter in Illinois.
May Mark's memory bring comfort to those who knew him and may his legacy live on through every cast line, every harvested garden row, and every shared story around a campfire.
