Marla passed away peacefully January 12, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and lighthearted joy that will never be forgotten.
She was born August 18,1960 in Laurence Harbor, New Jersey.
During her adolescent years, her family lived in Fair Haven, New Jersey.
Marla cherished her summers in Provincetown, Massachusetts where she spent each season from the end of May through September. She loved being at the beach and spending time in town, creating memories that stayed with her throughout her life.
In the 1970s, the family moved to North Conway, New Hampshire, where Marla attended Kennett High School. There she formed many friendships that lasted a life time. After school, she helped her mother, Evelyn and her stepfather, John Viscardi in their restaurant, Cafe Mews/ Marcello's Italian Restaurant. It was there she developed a love for the restaurant and hospitality industry, eventually
working in both Maine and New Hampshire.
Marla was full of life and had a rare gift and passion for the arts, especially singing at local venues for fun. She had an extraordinary ability to make people laugh and never focused on the negative, instead choosing joy, humor, and lightheartedness. She delighted in sharing funny stories from her past, often turning the simplest moments into treasured memories for family and friends. She had a special way of transforming ordinary situations into something extraordinary through her storytelling and sense of humor.
Marla is survived by her husband Dean, and her beloved cats Pearl and Rory. She also leaves behind a large and loving family, including brothers and sisters by birth, marriage and blended family, as well as cherished nieces and nephews, all of whom were touched by her humor, heart and love.
To know Marla was to laugh, to feel lighter, and be reminded not to take life too seriously. Her stories, her joy, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
