Marlene Carin Hogan, 75, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, in Houston, Texas. Born on March 14, 1950, in Jamaica, Queens, New York, Marlene lived a life marked by faith, dedication, and love for her family and community.

Marlene's professional journey was one of commitment and excellence. She was a devoted and faithful employee of Hobby Lobby for over 20 years, where her hard work and loyalty were recognized with an award honoring her two decades of service. Prior to her time at Hobby Lobby, Marlene was a business entrepreneur who successfully owned and operated her own business for many years—demonstrating her independence and determination.

In 1977, Marlene received Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. From that moment forward, she lived her life guided by faith—loving, helping, and giving to others with a generous heart. Her favorite Bible passage was Psalm 23, a reflection of the peace and strength she found in her spiritual walk. She also cherished the gospel hymn "Amazing Grace," which resonated deeply with her enduring devotion.

Marlene had a profound love for animals and found joy in the companionship of her two dogs and her cat. Her affection for animals was a constant throughout her life and reflected the warmth she extended to all living beings.

Family was central to Marlene's life. She is survived by her beloved husband, Scott Hogan Sr.; her daughter Ruth Ann Emily Browning and son-in-law William Larry Browning Jr.; her son Scott Hogan Jr.; granddaughter Regina May Priest; grandson Michael Izak Priest; brother Charlie Marcus; and sister-in-law Edie Marcus.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Regina Feilder Marcus and Morris Marcus.

Marlene Carin Hogan will be remembered for the steadfast love she gave to those around her, the faith that shaped every step of her journey, and the legacy of kindness she leaves behind. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
A Memorial Service celebrating her Life will be held on February 8, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at New Hope Baptist Church 32103 Decker Prairie Rd.
