Marlene Reifschneider

Marlene June Reifschneider (née Schenbeck), born on August 26, 1936, in Gering, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026, in Aurora, Colorado, at the age of 89. Surrounded by family.

Marlene was the cherished daughter of Alva and Pearl Schenbeck and grew up surrounded by her siblings Lane Schenbeck, Norma Harmon, Homer Schenbeck, Arlie Schenbeck, Kent Schenbeck, and Judy Harding. Her early years in Nebraska laid the foundation for a life filled with love and devotion to her family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ervin Reifschneider; her son, Michael Wayne Reifschneider; her daughter, Wendy Sue Reifschneider; her grandson, Jeremiah Thomson; as well as her parents and her six siblings.

Marlene is survived by her daughters Tammy Thomson and Lynn Boness. She was a proud grandmother to Lindsay (Brian) Hettinger, Brett (Tina) Boness, Brandon Boness, Brooke Boness, and Sarah Thomson. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren Julianna Thomson, Lyndon Bahnsen , AJ, Brooks, and Paityn Hettinger.

Marlene’s life was marked by her dedication to family and the enduring bonds she shared with those she loved. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who mourn her passing.
