Marsha Ann Hood "Piggy Mae" transitioned to her Heavenly Home on Wednesday, March 5, 2026 surrounded by family. She leaves to cherish her memories, loving children: Legia Hawkins, Joetta Davis, Tanisha Simmons and her baby boy, Marshall Davis, 1 brother: Henry White, 15 grandchildren: Marsha Jones, Kortevia Taylor, Phillip Isabell, Tae Hurt, Reginald Jones, Richard Hawkins, Reagine Walker, Edward Daniels, Tanisha Simmons, Tywan Davis, Marshall Davis, Kayonte Davis, Arianna Davis, Aaliyah Davis, and Alexia Davis, 20 Great-grandchildren and host of many other relatives, loving Godson: Marshall Wilson, 3 God daughters: Sondressee Montgomery, Tashaun Brown and Tanza Watson. Her best friend for life: Patricia Zella Watson, whom she loved so dearly. Her good friend of decades and dear to her heart: Ethel Shelton, special niece: Veronica Hughes and special cousins: Darnell Todd and Barbara Jean.Marsha was truly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 20, 2026, 12:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. & 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Family Hour, at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church 735 W. 20th Ave. Gary, IN .Marsha's Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Tree of Life Missionary Baptist Church, 2323 W. 11th Ave. Gary, In. Rev. Dr. Eric L. Boone, Sr., Pastor., Rev. Dr. Marion J. Johnson, Jr. Officiating. Interment: Oak Hill Cemetery.
