Marsha J. Meek. 64, of Meridianville, Alabama, passed away on March 30, 2026, in Madison, Alabama, as the result of a series of strokes.
Marsha was born on Dec. 23, 1961, in Carrollton, Illinois, the daughter of the late Arnold and Dolores (Little) Meek. She graduated from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, majoring in history with an emphasis on Catherine the Great. She worked in customer service in New York City, New Jersey, and
Texas.
She was a friend to animals, especially Great Pyrenees dogs and ferrets, rescuing many. She also had a particular talent for quickly identifying the murderer in any movie.
She is survived by her twin sister, Martha Meek of Meridianville, Alabama, as well as her sisters, Jeanette Handling of Meridianville, Alabama, Kathryn (John) Scanlan of Glenarm, Illinois, Diane Darnell of Urbana, Illinois, and brothers Larry (Chris) Meek of Carrollton, Illinois, and Philip (Ann) Meek of Swansea, South Carolina, in addition to many nieces and nephews.
Hampton Cove Funeral Home, Owens Cross Roads, AL, is in charge of the arrangements. After cremation, the ashes will be interred at Providence Cemetery in Greene County, Illinois, in a private ceremony.
