Marshall D. Partlow, 81, formerly of Claymont, Delaware, and retired to Marion, South Carolina, passed away on January 19, 2026, in Charleston, South Carolina. Born on February 9, 1944, Marshall-affectionately known as Mark, was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 43 years, Linda Darlene Partlow; his son, Marshall Partlow Jr.; his parents Henry and Jane Partlow; three brothers, Charles Partlow, Douglas Partlow, and Henry Partlow Jr.; and two sisters, Nancy Ellen Richardson and Thelma Sanger. Mark is survived by his daughter Michele "Mikki" DiOrio and her husband Rob; his cherished granddaughter Nicole DiOrio; two brothers, Bobby Partlow (Lisa) and Johnny Partlow; his sister Linda Markland; and his best friend Ricky Godbold. A proud United States Army veteran, Mark dedicated over three decades of service to Sun Oil Company as a Refinery Fire Marshal (FM-3). His commitment to public safety extended beyond his professional life-he was a devoted member of the Claymont Fire Company for 56 years. During that time, he served on various boards and earned Life Active status in recognition of his enduring contributions. Mark had a passion for life that was evident in everything he did. An avid golfer and NASCAR enthusiast, he found joy both on the green and in the thrill of the race. Known as a jack of all trades, he found joy in helping others with their projects. Whether working in the yard or tinkering in his garage, Mark was constantly on the move- living each day with purpose and energy. He will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to those he loved. His actions spoke volumes: he showed up when it mattered the most and fought hard for the people closest to him. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched with his generosity and determination.
