Martin Depores Freeman, 76, passed away on December 22, 2025, in Louisville, KY. Born on December 16, 1949, Martin was known for his friendly and outgoing personality, complemented by a great sense of humor. He cherished his family deeply, taking great joy in being a loving husband, father, and adored grandfather.
Martin attended St. Athanasius for his primary education and graduated from Evanston Township High School. He was a member of the St. Martin DePores Catholic Church, reflecting his commitment to his faith and community.
Martin was a true family man who enjoyed family events and vacations. An avid sports fan, he rarely missed a game, and he found great pleasure in reading mystery novels, which was one of his favorite ways to unwind.
He is survived by his wife, Melcina Freeman; daughters, Laura and Sheena Freeman; grandsons, Tony Roland Washington, Talik Washington, and Zaiden Freeman; granddaughter, Zariah Freeman; a brother, Ralph Freeman and his sister, Barbara Shoulders and her husband, Kelvin. Martin also leaves behind a host of nephews, nieces, and friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Barbara Freeman and Jimmy Yung.
A service to celebrate Martin's life will be held in the near future.
