Martin Leo Miller, 85, of Muskegon, Michigan, went to be with his Lord on April 11, 2026. Born on June 28, 1940, Martin grew up in Big Rapids, Michigan, where he attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and Big Rapids High School. He later earned an engineering degree from Ferris State University.

"Marty" began his career at WZZM TV, working at their transmitter in Grant, Michigan, from 1968 to 1980. After obtaining his real estate license and selling one home, he purchased his own company, Reliable Overhead Door and Gate, Inc., which he successfully operated until his retirement in 1995 at the age of 55. At that time, Marty and Nancy purchased a home in Sun City West, Arizona where they resided part of every year for almost 30 years. Marty was a longtime member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Ravenna, Michigan and Our Lady of Lourdes in Sun City West, Arizona.

A devoted family man and disciple of Christ, Martin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and neighbor. He was known for his generosity and willingness to help others. Martin had a knack for fixing anything mechanical or electrical and took great pride in his collection of heavy equipment, affectionately naming his backhoes Nelli Belle and Nelli Belle 2. Never one to sit still, he was always ready to tackle a new project or lend a helping hand.

In his younger years, Martin enjoyed fishing and deer hunting. Later in life, he and his beloved wife Nancy traveled extensively across the United States and embarked on pilgrimages to Medjugorje, the Holy Land, and Mexico City. He selflessly cared for Nancy during her battle with dementia the past few years of their 62 years of marriage. Nancy preceded him in death by only 12 days.

Martin is survived by his children David (Cathy) Miller and Mary (Bob) Kromer; grandchildren Joseph (Alli) Kromer, Jordan (Francisco) Vasquez-Kromer, and Andrew (Amanda) Kromer; great-grandchildren Mailen and Elio Vasquez-Kromer; sisters Theresa Miller and Ruthmary Miller; as well as many nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors. He was predeceased by his parents Raymond and Bernadette Miller; in-laws Frank and Mary Koval; sister Catherine Miller, brother Raymond Miller, sister-in-law Kay Miller and brother-in-law Michael Miller. He also left behind his "sis," Rosemarie Vandermolen.

A Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Ravenna with visitation occurring an hour before Mass. Christian burial will occur at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Big Rapids on May 23 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

As Marty would say at the end of every phone conversation, "Go with God."
