Martin (Marty) Handshaw passed away peacefully at home on December 19, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.
A Florida stock car racing pioneer, he won championships throughout Florida as both a driver and a car owner. One of his proudest moments was racing at Daytona in the last race that was held on the beach in 1958.
He served in the Army at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. He is a retired member of Sheet Metal Workers Local #32.
Marty will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Joyce; daughters Deana and Linda and their husbands; sister, Karen and her family; 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, close family members and countless friends in the racing community.
