Mary Ann Robertson Breaux, aged 87, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025, in Virginia Beach, VA. Born May 20, 1938, Mary Ann dedicated her life to her family, her community, and her faith, leaving a legacy of warmth and service.
Mary Ann attended Walter L. Cohen High School and furthered her education at Straight Business School. As a young woman, Mary Ann involved herself with Y-Gradale, a service sorority associated with the YMCA. She embarked on a fulfilling career that included positions at Xavier University as an Administrative Assistant and involvement with the United Negro College Fund. She also served as a secretary for Judge Israel Augustine in New Orleans, LA, and worked as a sales clerk at Rice's Nachman's.
As a military spouse, Mary Ann supported her husband's 24-year active-duty career in the United States Navy and continued her support of his career with naval aviation community for an additional 19 years with the Department of the Navy.
Mary Ann was a devout member of several Catholic parishes throughout her life, including Holy Ghost Catholic Church in New Orleans, Christ the King in San Diego, CA., St. Mary's Catholic in Patuxent River, MD, St. Mary's Catholic in Norfolk, VA, and Holy Spirit Catholic in Virginia Beach, VA.
Known for her green thumb and love for the holidays, Mary Ann was an avid gardener and enjoyed decorating her home for Christmas. She also found joy in sewing, homemaking, and hosting family and friends, always ensuring that her home was a welcoming space for all.
Mary Ann is survived by a loving family, including her daughter Ronique Y. Breaux-Jordan; sons Everett(Sandra) and Christopher Breaux (Teri) ; grandchildren Rodney E. Jordan II, Reece T. Jordan, Maiya A. Breaux, Adelyn G. Breaux, Evan T. Breaux, and Chloe M. Breaux; siblings Lionel and Augustine Robertson, and Gwendolyn Robertson, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Lillian Robertson, and siblings Beverly A. Robertson Johnson and Larry Robertson.
The family will receive friends at H.D. Oliver Funeral Home, 2002 Laskin Rd. Virginia Beach, on December 15th, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 pm. A funeral mass is scheduled for December 16th, 2025, at 11:00 am at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 1968 Sandbridge Rd., followed by a repast. Internment will take place at Quantico National Cemetery.
In lieu of traditional donations, the family requests that individuals honor Mary Ann's memory by visiting a local garden store to plant a tree or hydrangea in her honor, continuing her legacy of nurturing and growth.
