Mary Beth Boruff, 71, of Juno Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Mary Beth was born on May 3, 1954, at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, New York, to Warren and Mary Wheeler. She spent her early childhood in Vestal, New York, before her family later moved to Endwell, where she attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School. At the age of 12, she moved to Florida with her family, where she would go on to build a beautiful life filled with love, friendship, and accomplishment. She attended the University of Florida, graduating in 1976 from the College of Journalism, and began an extremely successful career as an account executive at radio and television stations in Palm Beach and Tampa, where she thrived and formed many incredible lifelong friendships. Mary Beth earned an outstanding reputation in the industry for her professionalism, warmth, and exceptional talent, and she was a mentor and role model to many who followed in her footsteps.

Throughout her life, Mary Beth often reflected fondly on her happy childhood and the many memories she shared with her siblings, parents, and grandparents. One of her favorite memories was her mother taking her to plays, which sparked a lifelong appreciation for the arts. As a child, she loved horseback riding, and as an adult she developed a passion for skiing and boating. In more recent years, she enjoyed learning to play mahjong and croquet, always embracing new activities with enthusiasm and curiosity. She also found joy and fulfillment in volunteering for Jupiter Medical Center’s annual gala, a cause that was meaningful to her.

Mary Beth was known for her beauty, vibrant and outgoing personality, and wonderful sense of humor. She had a special way of lighting up every room she entered and making everyone around her feel welcome.

In 1987, Mary Beth welcomed her daughter, Katie, with Peter Turecki, Katie’s father, and immediately fell in love with her role as a mother. She was the best mother a daughter could ever ask for, offering unwavering love, support, and guidance throughout her life. In 2011, she was joyfully promoted to “GiGi,” a role she cherished above all others, with the birth of her first granddaughter, Siena, followed by Alice and Violet. Her granddaughters were the light of her life and will carry on her legacy of strength, love, and laughter.

In 2010, Mary Beth met her knight in shining armor, Stephen Boruff. The two shared a wonderful 16 years together, marrying in 2014 and spending their years traveling, enjoying life, and creating countless memories. They especially loved attending Florida Gators sporting events together—cheering on their alma mater—entertaining friends, hosting family gatherings, and spending cherished time in Highlands, North Carolina. Stephen was a steadfast and devoted supporter throughout Mary Beth’s cancer journey, standing by her side with unwavering love.

Mary Beth also cherished her role as a stepmother to Jamie Boruff. She loved the time they spent together and truly considered him a son, holding their relationship very close to her heart.

Mary Beth was blessed with a close-knit group of lifelong friends whom she loved with all of her heart. She treasured her friendships deeply and was known for the loyalty, kindness, and joy she brought to those around her. Throughout her battle, she also formed meaningful connections with many new friends—nurses, doctors, counselors, and fellow warriors—whose compassion and strength helped guide her through some of the most difficult years of her life.

Mary Beth was the bravest and strongest warrior, fighting with incredible courage to remain with the people she loved. Her strength, grace, and determination were an inspiration to everyone who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Mary Wheeler; her stepmother, Donna Wheeler; her brother, Jim Wheeler; her sister, Peggy Wheeler; and her stepson, Christopher Boruff.

Mary Beth is survived by her loving husband, Stephen Boruff; her daughter, Katie (Jamaal); her stepson, Jamie Boruff; her cherished granddaughters, Siena, Alice, and Violet; her siblings, Kevin, Keith, and Kelley; her nieces, Kim, Sarah, and Jennifer; her nephews, Jesse, Adam, Michael, Shawn, and Christopher; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

A celebration of Mary Beth’s extraordinary life will be held on March 14, 2026, at 12:30 PM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 13591 Prosperity Farms Road, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Guests are encouraged to wear spring colors in honor of Mary Beth’s vibrant spirit. Those wishing to send flowers to the church may contact Anna Flowers at (561) 746-1288.
