Mary Rose Brown, aged 82, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2025, in Nokomis, FL. Born on January 18, 1943, Mary led a fulfilling life characterized by her generosity and loving nature. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who left a lasting impact on everyone she met.
Mary was a successful businesswoman who owned and operated Clintonville Auction House and The Hut Restaurant in North Middletown, Kentucky. Her establishments were well-loved within Bourbon County, especially for the delightful culinary experiences she provided.
A graduate of Magoffin County High School, Mary was known for her entrepreneurial spirit which shone brightly throughout her career. Beyond her professional achievements, Mary was a devoted mother to her son, Jay Arnett, and adored her grandchildren, Brittany, Nicole, and Kaden Arnett. She also held a special place in her heart for her brother, Jim Howard, and her nephew, Jerry Howard.
Mary enjoyed a variety of hobbies that enriched her life. She cherished spending time with her family, relaxing at the beach, dining out, thrifting, and playing computer games. Her love for life and her warm, generous spirit were evident in every activity she pursued.
Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Una Howard, and father, Mace Howard. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be forever remembered by her family and friends.
A special ash spreading service will be held on Nokomis Beach, honoring Mary's wishes. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Baldwin Brothers in Venice, FL.
