Mary Ann Davis, age 86, of Largo, Florida, passed away on January 1, 2026, surrounded by her loving daughters and family.
Mary Ann was born on January 10, 1939, in Beckley, West Virginia, to Mary Olson and William O. Bivens. She graduated from the University of Virginia School of Nursing in 1960. Following graduation, she spent a brief time teaching in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, before beginning a long and dedicated career in nursing.
After relocating to St. Petersburg, Florida, Mary Ann joined the Pinellas County Health Department, where she devoted 35 years to serving her community. Throughout her career, she provided compassionate care, leadership, and guidance to both her patients and her colleagues, leaving a lasting impact on all who worked alongside her.
Mary Ann married Woodrow W. Davis, Jr. and together they built a loving family, welcoming two daughters, Melissa and Kimberly.
She was known for her selfless nature and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. Mary Ann had a wonderful sense of humor, an infectious smile, and a memorable laugh. She found joy in cooking and carefully handwriting her recipes, bowling, watching movies , and spending time with her grandchildren. What she looked forward to the most were summers in Hinton, WV on the Greenbrier River where many memories were made with friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow. Mary Ann is survived by her daughters, Melissa Diener and Kimberly Kelley; her sons-in-law, Korey Diener and Mark Kelley; and her beloved grandchildren, Kaelee Diener, Ryan Diener, Evan Kelley, and Lauren Kelley.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Mary Ann's honor on February 7, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Martin's Italian Restaurant, 3689 Tampa Road, Oldsmar, Florida 34677.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to curealz.org, Cure Alzheimer's Fund in Mary Ann's memory.
